Cursed, Ordinarily
My recent love situation

Standing naked, He finds himself
At the exit gates
Of some beautiful, exciting
But ending fate.
He can never again return
So He throws back a rose,
Which lands with a flutter,
To rest at Her toes.
But She doesn’t accept
The petty flower
From the five time redeemer
And the one time coward.

He’s left in disillusion
And abandons the path.
He tries to live in the moment,
But thinks only of the past,
To when They discussed destiny
Across a solid gold table,
And how love would come
Like some cryptic fable.
But now, He regrets believing
In that higher power.
He’s just a four time redeemer
And a two time coward.

What crime did He commit
To deserve the intimate twitch,
That’s kept Him from reaching

The unraveling switch?
He knows he’s always had it,
Deep within his heart,
But it lays well buried
Below His poetry and His art.
It’s the Ultimate Enigma,
And it always leaves Him sour,
The three time redeemer
And the three time coward.

He digs himself a grave
Beneath the floorboards of truth,
While She continues to live every new day
In an innocent youth.
He can only sense an edge,
Only finite things,
So He shrugs off a new lover
To be a meaningless fling.
He wants it to be love
But knows history wont allow Her
To be with the two time redeemer
And the four time coward.

Living in the shadows
Can be very frightening
But life is the bivouac
Of a battle worth fighting.
So he grits His teeth
And breaks out of the gloom,
To the kingdom of sentience,
Free from His doom.
He runs through the dusk
And climbs the Midnight Tower
To escape from the one time redeemer
And the five time coward.
