King Henry came to me last night
A ghost in heavy chains
He ripped through my mortal soul
Without mercy for my pains
His coat was gray but his face was white
As he took me from my bed
And in a voice that echoed so loud
This is what he said,

'‘My son, my son, take these words
And put them to the test
When you decide to hear them
My spirit, it may rest
Look at the lives of great men
We can each of us be sublime
And departing, leave behind us
Footprints in the sands of time’'

King Henry came to me last night
Gone as quick as he came
I knew at that very instance
My life could not be the same
I opened my eyes in anguish
In the morning’s virgin sky
And laid there thinking of Henry
A tear rolling down my eye
