a. an octave, each line has 3 syllables b. rhymed aabcdddc c. L4 and L8 must be 3 syllable words. d. written with the defining features of most Celtic poems, cywddydd (harmony of sound) and dunadh (beginning and ending the poem with the same word, phrase or line) The Session Trad music, acoustic Irish songs - percussion bodhran beats fiddler’s feats strain repeats tradition. Inch Beach Breaking bay tides beach divides. Whorled sandspit – wind-jammer, endless sand, play at hand, hang glide and breakwater. Have the Full Irish Full Irish breakfast dish. Loaded plate bountiful – puddings black sausage stack eggs, toast-rack. Irish-full. Kilmainham Gaol In prison, no reason – Kilmainham remembered. thoughts assailed, justice failed, freedom jailed imprisoned. and some without “dunadh” St. Patrick’s Mountain Croagh Pádraig hike with stick, trek Celtic heritage. Walk sky-high, have birds’ eye, glorify - pilgrimage. Pints First Guinness is finished, foam clings glass; satisfied.
