A ghazal poem. Would you have the courage to run into a burning building?

The Hero (a ghazal)

You’ll have no need to fear, in time.
The pain will disappear, in time.

I understand you are confused,
But all will become clear, in time.

All of your cuts and burns will heal,
Even the most severe, in time.

You ran into a burning house!
No one else could get near, in time.

The mother of the rescued child
Thought none would volunteer, in time.

Perhaps a simple scar will be
Your only souvenir, in time.

A hero, Bella! Yes, you are
Someone we’ll all revere, in time.

Refrain – in time
Rhyme – fear, disappear, clear, severe, near, volunteer, souvenir, revere
Syllabic - 8/8
7 couplets
