In the Midst …He is my hope… I cry, O Lord, I softly weep that You my striving soul would keep My tear filled eyes are growing blind and inner peace I cannot find It fades to nothing like a dream on awakening with a scream and not knowing what was the sight that tore at my mind with such fright. Daily waging the war of truth; my only hope resides in You It keeps my tortured heart alive; though all around would seem to die. Surround me, Lord and comfort me! Rescue me from the raging sea that pounds my shore in waves of wrath to wash away Your chosen path. This turmoil, I know, will soon pass, and Your promise I’ll see at last. In between the now and then, hold me by Your nail scarred hand. Copyright © March 8, 2009 by Karen M. Crump
