Being Nice and Richly Rewarded
A poem about kindness and practicing what you preach, amid cruelty.

Practicing exactly what you preach,
Above all else, is what I would teach;
Simply move beyond yourself,
Try to be Santa, instead of the elf!
Walk the talk, and you will find,
They’ll bleed, too, while you’re being kind…

Being nice, not just a quality person,
Ensures your life of nightmares won’t worsen.
Give extra kindness, not just forgiveness,
And swear this oath, as God is our witness –
You’ll find in your heart, the extra love,
Be nice and fair, and earn all you’ve dreamed of!

Be nice and practice what you preach
Is what lovers, family, and friends would beseech.
Know the limits of your poor, weak soul –
It’s not your eternal happiness they stole…
The love and rewards you so richly desire,
Can be had without youth or intense fire!

Cruelty is but a mindless game,
Based on one’s imminent shame.
What hurts one’s ears, and is painful to listen to,
Is the teasing and torture a child can go through.
Take care, my sweet, and grow to adulthood;
Your pain and horror is not misunderstood…
