Fair Weather Friends

I could take a chance and bet all my dough,
The Dow would come back and stocks would go up.
A belief in me would help make it so,
I'm an optimist, always a full cup.

If it should waver and go the wrong way,
I'm not discouraged, I just make a wish,
Wait a while longer for a better day,
Find a distraction like going to fish.

But if it goes up, then I'm in clover.
Affection for all is my mantra then,
Happy times are here; sad times are over.
My worst enemy will become my friend.

But if I should lose, they'll show me the door.
The sum of my friends will not total four.
