WHEN I LOST YOU
No, I did not shed a tear, I did not cry or weep. My heart stopped when I lost you, My grief was just too deep. I knew not what came to pass. My sensation was stunned. I could not think or reason. My mind was truly stumped. Night came, I was all alone. The bed that had known two Was so strange I could not sleep. And then I thought of you. As soon as your thought did come, It haunted me all night. Since then, for me, each night has Been just a mental blight. • Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 syllabic format. M C Gupta 11 March 2009
