Once whispered across an old backyard fence,
words virally sprawl through the ether around
spreading vile poison like a dark incense.

Rumors, in print, become truth most profound
formed from cruel venom hidden in a heart.
Words virally sprawl through the ether around.

Innuendo is launched, thrown like a dart;
its malignant touch spreads without control
formed from cruel venom hidden in a heart.

The infection rages, cancer of the soul,
inundating the hearts of the innocent.
Its malignant touch spreads without control.

In desperation, to end the torment,
a choice that denies the tears that will fall
inundating the hearts of the innocent.

Click-clack of a keyboard spreads the dark call
once whispered across an old backyard fence.

Form: Terzanelle is a great way to drive a theme home. The refrains allow you to repeat those really powerful lines. There is no meter or syllable count dedicated to this form, but each line should be of similar length or metrical count.
