THANK you, dear Mystic, for creating this awesome forum: "Honoring Hannah"
Written by:Sticky: What can I say? The Dolls is open to any person with six months or less membership in WDC. I joined the Dolls with about a three-day margin. I think the main reason why Hannah allowed me to join was I didn't do ANYTHING after my August 08 join date until November of 08. I'm retired and LOVE to explore and discover new things (my wife says I "pry" into everything) and WDC was no exception. I bugged the yellow cases at first, asking questions of them. I discovered the chat room and asked lots of questions there. I even met my first blue case there and then.. woot woot, I met a PURPLE case (I still IM her with questions from time to time)! I had encouraged an online bud of mine, who wrote short pieces she called "remembrances", to join WDC. She did and within a couple of weeks she discovered the Dolls and talked me into joining. I did and... woot woot, I was getting all sorts of help in discovering how WDC worked, not only from Hannah, but the other leaders who were running the various parts of the group. One was Cissy, who is the owner of the Native American Indian group; a group I soon joined for personal reasons. Shortly after I had finished the "challenges" I got an email from Hannah asking if I would like to join the staff as a "co-leader" and help Cissy with the review board. I did and before I knew it I was hung in an interesting situation... both a student and a leader. See, the thing is, I only could function as a leader because of the things that I learned through the Dolls. I'm very grateful for the chance to have been able to be both student and leader, it's been a wonderful growing experience for me...even if I DO sometimes forget to make an attachment to an email, or forget one of the student's first names. I have made a number of friends here whom I hope will remain in contact as time goes on. It's been a filling three months...thanks Hannah! aka Lyle, Sticktalker When I first got here, I felt quite lost and spent my time just wandering. I stood at the window looking in until I found shelter under Hannah’s wing. The Paper Dolls have become a home where you’ll always find a friendly smile. They want to help each person grow and develop their own style. From the basics of a “bitem” form to the challenge of the written word you’ll find a tender guiding hand because you’re you – not part of a herd. So welcome, please, come on inside and begin your dreams to pursue. We’re here to help and look forward for the chance to get to know you! Welcome! Written by: Ken, HuntersMoon - Gone4Awhile By Puja: "A Paper Doll Gang Newbie" Hannah, If it wasn't for the Newbie Project, I doubt I would still be a member of writing.com. It was not only the things I learned, but the friends I've made that keep me here. Writing is a lonely activity. We sit in a room by ourselves and pour out our emotions, all in the hope that someone will read it and get a laugh, have a happy memory brought back, or give some direction to someone who needs it. It doesn't get much more unselfish than that. But now when I'm ready to sit down and work on one of the two novel's I have under construction, I go to WDC, open the PDG homepage and feel like I'm surrounded by friends. Now I can write and not feel so all alone. I have you to thank for that. Even though you get help from a lot of people, if it wasn't for you there would be no Paper Doll Gang. I try to help where I can, with reviews, being a pal or mentor, or judging. I don't feel comfortable with the technical aspects of the site yet, I don't understand how everything works, and I don't want to be a drag on other people's efforts. Anyway, I just thought you'd like to know that all your hard work and efforts are worthwhile, and noticed. With appreciation, Angelo THANK YOU - Hannah from Meeple's on haitus, mostly The day I found my new Home I looked around, all Alone. I searched for friends, None appeared. Until Hannah’s Kindness drew me near. Years have passed and now I have Overflowing joy at having found this Unique site. Helping me to find my way And making me feel I had somewhere to stay New works flowed from prompts and Nice words were sent my way. All I have to say is, Thank You Hannah!
