The great depression
        by jim velentino  (velentino@Writing.Com)
Vestiges of despair now caged inside,
dark clouds shadowed which hailed the sky;
they smelled the hopes were all disguised
shaking beneath the cloaks of lies.

Aeons went by as reality struck,
numbing the pain to muted cries;
the ravenous hunger once glorified
starved to death, wailing to survive.

Sailing over the cataclysmic past,
the Delphic revelation came at last;
hold on as tight as you may
even those little thoughts decay!
