IF I HAD KNOWN
If I had known you’d not love me, I would not have been blind. I would have never forced you to, With me, your future bind. Though it is true that I loved you, I would have never liked To force my love upon you and Have your affections spiked. It’s unfortunate you concealed Someone else had your heart. I wish we had, on path of love, Never made such a start. It’s not too late to recover. We can yet retrace steps. If you have someone else in heart, We can divorce perhaps. * Written in abcb rhyme and 8-6-8-6 syllabic format. * Written for the “Inspirations” contest, "Invalid Item" M C Gupta 16 March 2009
