Just a few short months ago, I decided, I wanted to create a gang that was solely dedicated to helping new members of WDC, "Newbies." I remember when I first stumbled upon this vast site. I didn't know where to go, but I was fortunate to find quite a few wonderful members that helped me out and encouraged me to keep on writing. This is what I want for all the Newbies, to find a home where they feel comfortable asking questions and growing in their skills. I couldn't think of what to name the gang, and then I saw a picture of a circle of paper dolls, all holding hands. A light went on in my head, and I said, "that's it!" The little circle of paper dolls represented exactly what I wanted this group to be; friends helping each other, holding each others hands, so not one member would be lost, become frustrated or feel all alone. Together both the Leaders and Newbies would learn from one another in a positive and nurturing environment, all the while making new friends and being above all, encouraged to write. Thus was born, "The Paper Doll Gang!" Now, here we are coming up on the graduation of our first gang of Newbies. I thought maybe three months would be too long, either you would get bored or I would burn out, but nothing could be further from the truth. Each new challenge I have thrown out to you, you have all eagerly delved into each and every one, and I have been blown away by all of your creativity. You are all wonderful, and I am sad to see you graduate, so much so, that I asked Ken and Sticky to create an Alumni page, so we can always stay in touch. I want you to know that anytime you'd like to create an item to share with the future classes, we would love it. We will also be show-casing your talents on the Alumni page as well. Our creative member, Mystic_writer, has created an E-zine, "Shadows," so along with the new classes of Newbie's work, we can also highlight some of your future achievements here as well. It is with mixed emotions that I will see you on graduation day; sadness and overwhelming pride in all that you have accomplished. I have no doubt that you will continue to amaze me with all your talent. To my wonderful Paper Doll Gang Leaders, Jr. Leaders and Assistants; Wow! I could not have asked for a better gang. You guys work tirelessly, and joyfully helping to make this gang the very best it can be. I truly believe, we have the "Best of the Best," bravo to you all, and thank you! And lastly, I would like to give special recognition to three of our very own Newbies: Sticky, Ken & Mystic. You guys started out as Newbies yourself, but I quickly saw you as leaders, and I was not wrong. The Paper Doll Gang has been blessed by all of your outstanding teamwork and dedication to the project. I am forever grateful to all three of you. God bless all the Members of the Paper Doll Gang.
