Old man by cerial
A old man sits against the wall His palm outstretched and head hung low His body beaten and bruised by the years of pain The man looks up at me and asks if I know his name This takes me by surprise I am caught off guard I do not know this man Never seen him by far Perhaps a test I think to my self Life is filled with test They know no limits By no means greed or wealth I look down at the old man intrigued Wondering about his life The how and the why He is in this strife He looks up at me and seems offended As I compare my life To this poor old man With all of my ties mended I look up at the man With his many years Before he places a few dollars in my hand As I wonder about his tears I still do not know my name The how and the why Or the places that I have been I still ask people as they walk by Perhaps one day I will see him again Maybe this time he will recognize me The poor old boy that gave it all up So the man could live happily
