Little Belle
A little girl with a big heart

Belle was a quiet child, and enjoyed reading. One day she read a book about random acts of kindness, and thought, I should perform random acts of kindness.

So the very next day at school, all day long, she did little things that went unnoticed, except by those they helped. Tommy, who could not walk very well and was always breaking his pencil leads, found sharpened pencils on his desk.  Sue, whose dress pocket was torn off at recess, found a sweater in her seat when she returned to class.  Mrs. Clapper, whose hands hurt from pounding the erasers, found them cleaned, and the Janitor, who had allergies and used a stained hankie, found a clean one on his desk at lunch time.

That night Belle went to bed, thinking of the small things she had done to help.  Best of all, she thought, tomorrow was another day!
