Gloomy Country Road

I walk along the winding road,
Clouds in the distance, storms forbode -
Gloomy country path at twilight.
Cows and critters search for shelter,
'Neath trees in leas, helter skelter.
Winds start to blow, picking a fight
With leaves, and sand gets in my eyes.
Dogs are barking, the bluejay cries,
Darkness hides all, here comes the night.
