This Broken Heart


Time broken again
Helpless tears drown each light year
Iridescent hope.

Starlight sunken dread
Breathless bound twinkle encased
Recluse’s failures.

Osmosis skin pale
Knotting pores foreseeing fate
Emptiness triumphs.

Never shimmering
Heart forever beating broke
Eyes lost in black sky.

A pain quakes within
Ravishing life longing love
Torment never dies.

Prompt: write an acrostic poem using "This Broken Heart."

Acrostic Poem: all of the letters of the first lines make a word or phrase.

Traditional Haiku: each stanza has a 5-7-5 syllable pattern.
