FIGHTING A FOOL
To fight or to keep quiet, Is what we must decide. World is full of friends and foes; By all, we can’t abide. We have got to fight back when A wicked, vile person Tramples on our feet and does Snatch our wallet and run. But if one just calls us names And argues like a fool Questioning our right to speak He breaks gentlemen’s rule. Debates or fights ought to be Only amongst equals. Wise and fool, saint and a thief, Can never be rivals. Faced with a situation Where ignorance is bliss, Better to let the fool whine Than take his rants amiss. • Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 syllabic format. M C Gupta 25 March 2009
