In your topaz dream
for Michelle You sparkle like houses clinging to cliffs of Capri; like moonstones of marble cut from the Alps; you're in Italy holding fast to a dream of wandering afar, of light fading in the hour before dawn. You define the yellow of Sun; you're the blue Dog Star. You are radiance captured in stone, cut to a gem. They name you Topaz, assign you some worth. But you are worthy of more. No star that has fallen to Earth is more precious than the light in your heart you have stored. © 2009 Kåre Enga [166.8] 2009-03-27 Notes: written as a response to a blog entry! "Topaz dreams"
