. . . Newfoundland Sailing a sea of tranquility, Where the sky kisses the sun. Where the fresh, salt air, infuses here, Where I know my last day will come. Passion tanned on God's land. Newfoundlanders frown, Her story confounded, Past this true country's vote, that wrong rightness wrote. Her great north shore, Her straight, tilted, spine, Her coves, and broad bays, Etch Her sweet, rhyming ways. Chanting She's number one, endlessly, day after day. To all who gaze Her beautiful bays, Her mapped shores, Show Her thick rich woods, lakes, and marshes. In grandeur, standing proud in the east, with Her bright lit lamps, To gently welcome all to Her shores, Guiding all safely, true kindness, and warmth.
