The Tethered Heart
Why can't my heart move on? (Form: Mirrored Acrostic)

The emptiness resounds in my hearT,
Hauntingly, until it seems to vanisH
In the darkness. I use it as an alibI,
Silently denying the fading echoeS.

Bittersweet thoughts of you disturB
Reality's bleak image in the mirroR
Of my pain. Memory's needles tatoO
Kaleidoscopic patterns in misery's inK
Entropy's cold hands overwhelm mE.
No I cry in benumbed supplicatioN.

How can I live with this virulent anguisH
Eating my soul? Knowing somewherE
Another holds her fills me with nauseA.
Restrained, I lie upon agony's altaR
Tethered by an unforgetting hearT.

Notes
An entry for "Invalid Item
Form: Acrostic ~ I thought I'd add to the challenge by attempting a "mirrored" acrostic where the both the first and last letter of each line spell out the prompt. *Smile*
Prompt: This Broken Heart

Thank you for taking the time to read my poem. Please, take a moment and comment. Your reactions, criticisms, praise even *Smile* - all are welcome.
