Rockets of Love
A poem about love and how the forces of evil try to get in the way.

Rockets of love explode inside
every time my man looks into my eyes
A look so intent that my heart skips a beat
A look so intent that I melt on my feet.
HIs kisses are sweeter than cherry pie
HIs love lifts me higher than the birds in the sky

Rockets pushing us up to places unknown
places so beautiful we call them our home.
Places so beautiful that we don't want to leave;
Places filled with dazzling red hearts
and sparkling diamond dreams.

But no matter how hard we try,
we're ambushed with rockets
of another kind.
Rockets of doom and awful despair
that try to make each believe
that the other doesn't care.

Rockets of doubt and unbelief,
rockets of rage under our feet.
Pushing us up to strange and hideous places
Exotic streets and hateful faces.

Places where, we don't want to be
Places not right, for him or me.
Places where all human love is gone and
places where it's impossible for us to be alone.
Wanting us to dance to a new master's tune
where nothing is sacred
nothing is true.

You've heard the old adage that only the strong survives
and that my friend is why he is still my guy, so
althought these hideous forces try to get in our way
we love each more with each passing day.

Rockets of love expload inside
everytime my man looks into my eyes
A look so intent that my heart skips a beat
A look so intent that I melt on my feet.
HIs kisses are sweeter than cherry pie
HIs love lifts me higher than the birds in the sky
