Darkness
A poem about darkness and pain.

I’m falling into a pit of despair,
From the ground and into the air.
The pain inside me, I can hardly bear.

The darkness within me is coming out,
And as it does, I begin to shout,
I know that without a doubt:

It is because of her.
I lay grieving, refusing to stir,
All of this because of her.

The darkness is coming in through an open door,
Just withstanding the pain is more than a chore,
The darkness has overwhelmed me, I am no more.
