DARK WATERS
Never will I go for a swim, The pond so dark and still, For me that task too grim. I'm afraid thanks to Tim, A child's bet for a dollar bill, Never will I go for a swim. Climb the tree and out to the limb, Looking down just makes me ill, For me that task too grim. Let me climb down I begged him, Just let me go back over the hill, Never will I go for a swim. Now it was sink or swim, Someone pushed me against my will, For me that task too grim. Under dark waters my sight was dim, I pushed to the surface, this was not a thrill, Never will I go for a swim, For me that task too grim. (this is a Villanelle poetry form.
