just because it was dawn that life would be renewed that the birds would sing that the slate would be cleaned that the breeze would carry the faint scent of spring in through the window like last minute redemption did you think that the act that had illicited sobs in the darkness might inspire smiles in the light did you really think that I could forgive you?
