The Performance
** #1544391 Not An Image ** The sun brightly moves in its lonely dance over the sea; the wind’s hand on its waist. Its coquettish play holds me in a trance and, for a moment, my pain is erased. You’re like the light on the waves, mesmerizing to the eye but not touching. Insubstantial promises that sparkle but never illuminate my soul. With a sigh of regret, I turn and leave though the beauty of the moment remains. Perhaps truth will bring peace to my heart while the sun brightly moves in its lonely dance. Notes Day 2 entry in "Rhythm & Rhyme Poetry Challenge" Prompt: Image Form: Dorsimbra Stanza #1: Shakespearean/Sicilian Sonnet style (4 lines, rhymed abab, in iambic pentameter) Stanza #2: 4 lines of free verse Stanza #3: 4 lines of Blank Verse (unrhymed but metrical in iambic pentameter) The twelfth line is the same as the first. Thank you for taking time to read my words. I would appreciate it if you took a moment and left a comment. Your reaction, impressions, criticisms, - yes, even praise Ken
