Not So Ordinary
It's about my parents divorce.

I'm not an ordinary girl
You expect me to take on the world
But I've been hurt so much,
I just need that one person's touch;
So I can get through it all,
but instead you just watch me fall.
As she's over here dying,
You're on the other side lying,
And I'm still trying.
How could you do this to me?
You said we'd always be a family.
Why are you over there?
When I need you right here.
Why won't either of you listen to me?
I knew we weren't a family.
How come it has to be like this?
To both of you I barely exist.
Why can't you set your differences aside?
Instead you fight and collide.
While we were sitting there waiting,
You two were always debating.
Whose turn is it this week?
He'd always turn the other cheek.
She won't take me anywhere,
So I just look at the ceiling and stare.
"Will you take me to the dance?"
"Too bad, I've got other plans."
Why do you want me to take on the world?
I'm not an ordinary girl.
