Drenched in my tears, I stare down the path I last saw you take,
Oh how I wonder where you've gone, my dear.
A message, a sign, anything of you would calm me down, my dear.
In this village I remain anxious and waiting...
Waiting for you to return, my dear.

Eight years have passed by, since you left, and I cry at the thought of you leaving me behind, my dear,
The villagers, they tell me that I wait in vain, my dear,
But fear not, I have not lost my hope, my dear.
I only hope that you are safe, my dear.

...

Drenched in my tears, I stare down the path I last saw you take,
Oh how I wonder where you've gone, my dear.
A message, a sign, anything of you would calm me down, my dear.
In this village I remain anxious and waiting...
Waiting for you to return, my dear.

Day by day, I still await you, my dear.
Are you safe? Injured? I still pray you that you are safe, my dear.
Elders say we must abandon the village, my dear,
Yet I refuse to leave, my dear.

...

Drenched in my tears, and overwhelmed by my fears, I still look down that path, my dear.
Oh how I long for your presence, my dear.
I'm waiting in this village solitary and in fear...
In fear that I'll die before you return, my dear.

The demons approach our village, my dear
Although everyone has already left, my dear.
But not even the the demons scare me...
For my only fear is if you are hurt, my dear.
Though the demons draw near,
I will still wait for you, my dear.

...

In hope of finding you, I am going down your path, my dear.
I must be quick, though, for the demons are still near.
If I'm found, they will kill me here.
So here I come. I'm coming, my dear.

...

Night still, and the cold mist descending, I lay here numb and alone, my dear.
Nothing warms me, but my own blood, my dear.
I'm sorry... I should have run when I had the chance, my dear.
I'll be waiting on the other side, my dear.
And now this is goodbye, my dear.

...

Light illuminates my vision, and air enters my lungs.
I look around confused at my surroundings.
5 years pass and I'm in school.
13 more, and I'm in through with highschool.
I live my life, but I can't shake the feeling that I forgot something.

A voice calls out to me.
I turn around... no one.
I walk on and think.... What could that have been?
No one would call me their love, for there is no one I hold dear.... is there?
