The day is coming in
From three a.m. to five It moved so slowly My night dues have been paid Meeting the morning I live again I can’t tell you how happy I am To see this new exquisite day Not worn thin by the disarray We choose to call “yesterday” It comes to me fresh aright God’s mandate: “Let there be Light!” We have been gifted with a new day! I count my blessings careful to write Forgetting the anxieties of the night Blessed light to appreciate and savor Blessed light spotlights and favor I fully embrace my rare uncommon lot To live in this moment unbegot No, it will never come again We, inherited a New Day, my friend!
