Under her coffee table lay Dominator, one mean-looking mixed breed. Mostly creamy in color, small patches of brown sprawled across its back. All four feet were completely black, like little ebony shoes.
Marianne expected him to be tough, some great guardian protecting them. However, she soon learned that cowardly blood ran deep through his veins. As the doorbell rang, he took off, scampering towards safety beneath Joseph’s bed. “Wrong way you dumb mutt!” Mary and Joe exclaimed, dismay splayed on both faces. With shaking heads, together they chuckled lightly. Maybe a guard dog was needed for their scaredy cat.
