Poem about moving through pain and trying to move forward
Moon Shadows

At the dawn of night,
darkness engulfs my sky.
As I look to the future,
blood and tears are
stained upon my face.

No hope remains within
for a future that might
echo this recent past.
Am I looking
to the wrong future?
Am I missing
the lessons from
this stained past?

Suddenly,
the moon rises as
the sun sets
in the same sky.

In the moonlight,
my faith tries to speak,
after a numbing absence:

By the light of the moon,
you are protected.

Moonlight bathes
the weary traveler.
When the road seems endless,
when the blood and tears
continue to run down,
Moonlight proves
its constancy.
