From the five petals to the lengthy stem to the two leaves, the fake flower was a picture of near perfection. A faint floral fragrance infused the bud of the flower.

Each petal was oval shaped, pointed at the top, wide in the middle and tapered gradually to the base. Full and symmetrical, the petals were smooth as silk sheets and curved just so that the outside edges were a little elevated above the middle. The back sides of the petals were a solid dark blue. The font sides were dark blue at the tips, and then the color faded to medium blue to light blue to white at the base of the bloom. The gradient of colors made the flower look like a target, a series of rings leading to the bright yellow center of attention.

To simulate dew, random hot glue drops with thin tails dotted the face of the man-made flower. In dim illumination, the glue drops were cloudy, but bright light shining down created a crystalline effect like sunlight on morning dew. One petal had three dew drops in the center of the petal. Another had one drop near the tip. The third had two drops, one on the left side near the tip and the other on the middle of the right side. The fourth had no drops adorning it at all. The fifth and final petal had one drop where the main glob of glue was at the base of the petal with a long thin string towards the tip.

All five petals extended from underneath a central circle of yellow fuzz. Soft and fuzzy as velvet, the center of the flower was flawlessly rounded. The center was a darker golden yellow and made of dense fluff. The outer ring was a lighter lemon yellow and was actually made of little individual tufts that stuck this way and that. The randomness of the outside ring contrasted to a great extent with the tidy tightness of the middle.

Holding up this striking blossom was a dark green stem. The stem was long and straight as an arrow. The wire inside was stiff to hold its shape, with only a slight give to bow the flower one way or another. The stem, at first glance, looked like one solid piece of green sleeve slipped over the wire. On closer inspection, the green covering was actually a long strip of slightly coarse green tape wrapped evenly and methodically around the wire.

Two sharp tipped and fat bodied leaves stuck off the stem. One was attached near the head of the flower. The other connected in the middle of the stem. Both leaves were etched down the center with a long groove. From the groove, other smaller lines extended to the edges of the leaves, simulating veins. Hot glue also decorated the two leaves. The upper leaf had but one dew drop right smack dab in the middle. The lower leaf had two drops almost evenly spaced along the center vein.
