![]() 'Ere I cross the bridge with delight, cobbled stones laid; leading me home. Leave behind yesterday's sad plight, ne'er, again, my tired feet roam. Fragrance sweet; long remembered, 'ere I cross the bridge with delight. Wayward days, I've now surrendered; put away thoughts of fancy flight. Amidst the forest dappled with light, visions blooming and dreams dancing. 'Ere I cross the bridge with delight, the day transformed; thoughts romancing. I have longed to see you, my dove, to hold you close, long in the night. Soon, we'll be together, my love, 'ere I cross the bridge with delight. Editor's Pick in the July 29, 2009 Poetry Newsletter.
