Our tale starts in the fantastic land of Neverland. This is home to Peter Pan, Tinker bell, the Lost Boys, the Indians and many more characters. But it is also home of Captain Hook and his Pirates. He was the nemesis of Peter Pan. But lately things hadn’t been going his way.
In the Captain’s cabin of the Jolly Roger Captain Hook and his right hand man Mr. Smee were thinking about what to do next. Captain Hook was on his chair while Mr. Smee shined his boots.
“Where am I going wrong Smee?” asked Captain Hook.
“What do you mean Cap’n,” replied Mr. Smee.
“How many years have we been trying to get that retched Peter Pan and those Lost Boys?”
“I’ve lost count sir.”
“Exactly. We’ve been doing this for too long. Too many times has that brat made a fool of me in front of my own crew.”
“Well why don’t we just move on?”
“Move on are you crazy?” He then began to think about it a little. “That’s it. Smee you’re a genius. We’ll just move on from here and raid people like we did in the good old days.”
“That sounds fantastic sir.”
“But now where do we go?”
“I’ve heard Oz is very nice around this time of year. But I have been told that Middle Earth is also a nice place to go.”
“No we need somewhere where no one has seen a pirate.” He then began to think a little. “Somewhere like Wonderland.”
“Wonderland sir?” Mr. Smee was surprised at this. “But cap’n you remember what happened you had anything from Wonderland.”
“Don’t remind me. But at dawn tomorrow we will go to Wonderland and take everything of value.”
“But what about the Queen.”
“We’ll deal with her when the time comes.”
Meanwhile a few days later in the Real World Alice was just leaving church. It had been a mediocre service today. It wasn’t too boring but nothing really exciting happened. It was a lot like an average church service.
But now Alice made her way to the Rabbit Hole and she quickly climbed inside it. She quickly began to fall for what seemed to be an eternity. But after several minutes she reached the bottom.
Alice then ran to the room with many doors and she saw the Doorknob there again. He gave her a pleasant smile.
“Hello Alice,” said the Doorknob.
“Hello Mr. Doorknob,” replied Alice.
“How was church today?”
“It wasn’t too bad I guess. But I’d really like to see what’s happening in Wonderland if you don’t mind.”
“Not at all.”
“Has anything happened since I’ve been gone?”
“Not really no.”
“I guess that’s that a little dull. But it’s good at the same time. At least nothing really bad has happened.”
He then moved to the glass table and she drank some of the shrinking juice. This caused her to quickly shrink until she was small enough to get into Wonderland. But when she stopped shrinking she felt very light headed. She normally felt like this after changing her size.
“Are you alright there?” asked the Doorknob.
“Yeah I’m fine,” replied Alice. “That sometimes happens when I get any bigger or smaller.”
“Well at least you’re aright.”
The tiny door then opened and Alice went through it. She found herself in Wonderland once again. But this time it was a blustery day. It would have been ideal to fly a kite. But since Alice didn’t bring one she obviously could do it.
The wind itself was so strong that it almost swept her off her feet. She had to find shelter before she was blown away. The only thing she could see was the Mad Hatter and March Hare’s tea party. Using all of her strength to walk against the wind she slowly made her way to the garden.
But when she got there she could see that the Mad Hatter and March Hare were having difficulties having their party. Alice couldn’t believe that they were still having the party outside. The wind had blown over most of the chairs and the scones and cakes were all over the table.
The March Hare was the first to see Alice and he waved to her and he began to greet her.
“Hello there Alice,” said the March Hare.
“How can you have your tea party today?” replied Alice.
“Because it’s our un-birthdays silly.”
“No I mean it’s like there’s a hurricane here and you’re still drinking your tea and eating scones.”
“Well it is difficult today,” replied the Mad Hatter. “I lost my head a few times. Literally.”
“Shouldn’t you have your tea inside?”
“Maybe but we’ve had our parties out here everyday without fail.” Both he and the March Hare stood up and put their hands on their chests. “We shall have our party any time.”
“Any time,” repeated the March Hare.
“In the garden.”
“In the garden.”
“And in all Weather.”
“In All Weather.”
“Come sun and rain.”
“Sun and Rain.”
“Come snow and ice.”
“Snow and Ice.”
“Our party will go on and on and on.”
“And on.”
They both then sat down and continued to drink their tea. Alice just stood there in some disbelief. She didn’t think that even they were mad enough to have their tea party outside. But even they were able to surprise her.
“You don’t mind if I go inside anyway?” asked Alice. “Unlike you pair I want to be inside.”
“Yeah sure,” replied the March Hare. “But whatever you do don’t touch anything that starts with the letter M.”
“Why?”
“Because something really, really bad will happen.”
“Fine.”
Alice then quickly went into the March Hare’s house and she looked around a little. She was impressed with what she was seeing. Everything inside looked like they belonged to a very wealthy man. There was jewellery, money, paintings, chandeliers and many more items worth a fortune.
“Some of these things must be priceless,” said Alice.
Just then she saw a doll on top of a table. She recognised it as a doll that she had in the real world. But this one was wearing an entirely different dress. She thought that it was some kind of variant to what she had. She couldn’t help but pick it up and take a closer look. But when she did this everything around her began to shake. It as like being in an earthquake.
“This isn’t good,” said Alice to herself.
Meanwhile in the middle of the ocean the Jolly Roger was having to fight the full force of the ocean. It was being beaten by giant waves like none the pirates had ever seen in their lives.
Mr. Smee was had the helm of the ship and he was trying to steer it through the awesome storm. Captain Hook was just going up to him from the lower decks. Since the ship was rocking so much he could barely walk forwards. He almost fell over once or twice but he was able to keep his balance.
Eventually he got up to the deck where Mr. Smee was. But just before he got there the ship took a sudden turn to portside and this made him fall over. He rolled across the deck and he almost went overboard. But using his hook he was able to cling onto safety. But he couldn’t stay like that for very long.
“SMEE!” shouted Hook.
“Coming Cap’n,” replied Mr. Smee.
Mr. Smee then began to walk to where Hook was. When he let go of the helm another pirate took over. But when he got to Captain Hook he gave him a nice pleasant smile and a giggle.
“Why Cap’n,” said Mr. Smee. “What are you doing hanging overboard like that? You could fall into the water.”
“JUST HELP ME UP SMEE!” demanded Captain Hook.
“As you wish.”
He then grabbed onto the hook and he began to pull the Captain up. It was a bit of a struggle but he seemed to be able to do it. But then the ship quickly turned to the starboard side and Captain Hook fell back into the Jolly Roger. He rolled down the entire deck and he hit the starboard side. But thankfully this time he didn’t go overboard. He gave out a small sigh of relief.
“Are you alright there Cap’n?” asked Mr. Smee.
“Do I look alright?” replied Captain Hook.
“Well strictly you do look pretty well Cap’n. Have you been losing weight because if you have I can really tell the difference.”
“Just shut up and help me up.”
“Yes Cap’n.”
Mr. Smee then quickly helped Captain Hook back onto his feet and he went back to the helm. The rain was still coming down on them and the ocean was very unforgiving. But in his mind he didn’t have to worry about the Crocodile.
Meanwhile back in Wonderland Alice was quickly getting out of the house. It was still shaking violently and many objects were falling off the wall. She wasn’t sure if she had done anything or if the there really was an earthquake.
But no sooner had Alice gotten out of the house it collapsed and there was a large dust cloud at first. But when it cleared everyone could see that the building was completely destroyed.
“Alice did you touch anything that began with the letter M?” asked the March Hare. He crossed his arms.
“No I didn’t,” replied Alice.
“Then what did you touch?”
“A cup.”
“You mean a mug?”
“No I mean…” She then realised that mug was another name for a cup and unfortunately it began with the letter M. “Oops.”
“Oops is right. How am I going to live in there now?”
“But you don’t live in there. You’re always out here having an un-birthday party or something like that.”
“That’s besides the point. I’ll have to contact someone I thought I’d never need to contact.”
“Who’s that?”
“The insurance company.”
“I am dreadfully sorry. Maybe there’s a way I can help.”
“Sure you can.” He then began to write something down on a piece of paper. When he finished he gave it back to Alice along with a compass. “Take this to the insurance company. The compass will lead the way.”
“Well I guess I do owe you that.”
“Now go before something else gets broken.”
“Alright I’m going.”
Alice then began to walk out of the garden and looked at the compass. It didn’t have any of the directions on it. All there was, was a pointer and Alice turned around. The pointer changed direction.
“This is helpful,” said Alice.
She then began to walk in the direction to the Insurance Company. It was still fairly early in the day so she thought that she wouldn’t be too long getting there and back. But she had no idea what she was going to encounter along the way. One thing was sure in her mind was that it wasn’t going to be like any journey she took in the real world. Something was bound to happen.
After a few minutes of walking Alice looked at the compass to see if she was going in the right direction. But unfortunately for her she was walking against the blustery wind. Her progress wasn’t too fast but she just walked as fast as she could. She made sure to keep the insurance claim in her pocket so that the winds didn’t blow it away from her. That was the last thing she wanted to happen.
But after roughly an hour the winds subsided and everything seemed to be back to normal. This was a good thing for Alice because now she could make a lot more progress in her walking.
But eventually she reached the beach and she saw the compass pointing towards the ocean. She gave out a sigh and she began to think a little. If she went around the beach to the Insurance Company it would take her too much time. But she could just grow and walk through the ocean. The only problem with that was that she didn’t know how deep the water could be. She knew that in some oceans the water could be a couple of miles deep at a time.
But then she began to see something over the horizon. At first she couldn’t tell what it was. But as it got closer she could see that it was a ship. She was used to seeing steamboats but this one was a wooden ship that had recently gone out of fashion. She thought that they could be some help to her.
“Hey over here!” shouted Alice. She waved frantically at the ship in hope that they would see her.
But the ship was the Jolly Roger belonging to Captain Hook. At first he hadn’t seen Alice yet and they were just sailing towards the land. Captain Hook himself was glad that he wouldn’t have to deal with Peter Pan again.
“Captain we’ve been spotted by a wee girl!” shouted one of the pirates holding a telescope.
“What?” replied Captain Hook. He then took the telescope off of him and he looked through it himself. “Blast so we have.”
“What do we do captain?”
“Keep going. One girl can’t stop us.”
The pirates continued to sail towards the land and Alice just stood there and waited for them. She hadn’t noticed the pirate flag on top of one of the masses. She was just looking directly at the ship.
But as they got closer Alice could hear the pirates. She was feeling a little intimidated but she just stood there and hoped that they were going to help her out. If they wouldn’t she would have just lost valuable time.
But eventually the Jolly Roger reached as far as it could go and the pirates boarded a life boat and they began to go towards her. This was when Alice saw that they were carrying weapons.
“They’re pirates,” she said to herself.
She then went to run away but the pirates had already reached the shore and one of them was able to grab her. She went to take one of the mushrooms from her pocket but the pirate grabbed her hand.
“Hey let me go,” she said.
“Let’s just see what Captain Hook has to say about that,” replied the Pirate. “I think he’s going to like you.”
“Captain Hook?”
The pirate then took her back to the life boat and threw her inside. There was some rope that he used to tie her up. He then began to row back to the Jolly Roger while the other pirates stayed on the land. They in turn walked inland to find anyone who was unfortunate enough to get in their way.
It took several minutes for the boat to get back to the Jolly Roger. The pirate then picked up Alice and took her on board. He carried her to Captain’s Hook’s room and he knocked on the door.
“What is it?” asked Hook.
“Captain Hook we found a wee girl,” replied the pirate.
“She isn’t just a boy wearing a wig? You remember what happened last time when you thought it was a girl.”
“Let me check.” He then pulled some of Alice’s hair and it caused her some pain. “Nope this time it’s definitely a girl.”
“Bring her in.”
The pirate then opened the door and Alice saw Captain hook sitting at his desk. There was a map of Wonderland right in front of him. He seemed to be very happy at this moment in time.
“So it is a girl this time and not Peter Pan,” said Hook.
“No sir I checked and everything,” replied the Pirate.
“Good now rejoin the others on the mainland.”
“Yes sir.”
The pirate then left. But before he did he made Alice sit down on a chair right in front of Captain Hook’s desk. She was constantly trying to reach into her left pocket to get the shrinking mushroom. But the ropes were too tight for her and she couldn’t reach them. For now she was at the mercy of Captain Hook.
“So you’re a native of Wonderland,” said Hook. “Strange I thought you would be mad or something.”
“I’m from the real world,” replied Alice.
“The real world you say?”
“Yes.”
“Well that makes things a lot more interesting. At least with you I can have a civilized conversation.”
“I’m not going to do anything civilized with you.”
“Well we could change that.” He then slammed his hook onto the desk. “Now I must warn you lass I am not one of those fairy tale pirates you hear in old stories. I’m the meanest man to ever sail the seas. So be careful what you say to me. They may be your last.”
“I’m still not doing anything for you.”
“Shame maybe some time in the cells will do you some good.” He then cleared his throat. “Smee!”
Just then Mr. Smee came running into the room. He reminded Alice of the White Rabbit a little. They even sounded the same.
“Yes cap’n,” said Smee.
“Take this young lady into the cells,” replied Hook.
“Yes cap’n.”
He then grabbed Alice and he began to take her away. But she didn’t think that they’d keep her tied for too much longer. They were going to untie her eventually. She hoped at the least.
Mr. Smee then took Alice below the deck and put her in one of the cells. It smelled rotten in there. But Smee didn’t until her so she still couldn’t reach the mushrooms in her pockets.
“Things can’t get any worse,” she said to herself.
Meanwhile on land the pirates were still walking inland. But they eventually ran into several animals running around a rock. The Dodo was standing on top of the rock and he saw the pirates.
“Hello there,” he said waving to the pirates.
“We want your stuff!” demanded a pirate.
“You all look very wet. A Caucus-Race should do the trick for that. Just follow the others.”
A few of the pirates didn’t know what to do. But a couple joined in so that they could get dry. A few of them didn’t particularly like getting wet. But as soon as the others began to think a little more they also joined in. Eventually all the pirates were running around and around.
“That’s it my lads,” said the Dodo. “That’s how you do it. Just keep going round and round.”
The pirates just kept running. They followed the other animals that were also running to get themselves dry. None of them realised that they were just wasting time and not getting any drier.
“Why are we doing this again?” asked one pirate.
“To get dry,” replied another pirate.
“Oh yeah.”
“Now keep running.”
“Yes sir.”
They continued to run round and around. Most of them had forgotten about the Captain and his orders. They were just too busy concentrating on getting dry to bother about the captain.
But not too far away a small blackbird was sitting in a tree watching what was happening. He soon realised what was happening and he flew off the tree and went away towards the palace.
“The pirates are here,” said the Blackbird. “I must warn the Queen of Hearts as soon as possible.”
The pirates continued to run around and around. But then one of them quickly stopped and began to think.
“Hey wait a minute,” he said.
The other pirates quickly stopped as they realised that they had a job to do and they quickly stopped everyone else who was running the Caucus-Race. They quickly got their weapons back out.
“Give us your stuff now,” said the Pirates.
“We don’t have anything,” replied one of the animals. He then tapped his sides. “See no pockets.”
“Ok does anyone have anything worth stealing here?”
“He does,” replied a Fish. He then pointed towards a crab. “He’s got gold rings on his legs.”
“Wait no I don’t,” replied the Crab.”
“Yes you do.”
“No I don’t.”
“Yes you do.”
“No I don’t.”
“Yes you do.”
“No I don’t.”
“Yes you do.”
“No I don’t.”
As they continued to argue the pirates just went away. They realised that there was nothing of value here and they would do better if they just went somewhere else. They thought that the Queen would have something worth stealing. But they had heard that she was worse then Captain Hook. They found this very hard to believe but knowing that this was Wonderland almost anything was possible.
Meanwhile back on the Jolly Roger Alice was still trying to get out of her ropes. She had nearly got one of her hands free and she only had to struggle for a little longer. It wasn’t looking good for her.
“Come on Alice,” she said to herself. “Just one more pull.” She then pull her arm again and this time it came free. She was very happy with herself as she looked at her hand. “Hey I did it.”
Without hesitation Alice took the shrinking mushroom from her pocket and she took a bite out of it. She then shrank out of the ropes and she stood there for a moment. Within second she was small enough to get through the bars.
Alice quickly went through the bars. She was just about to take a bite out of the growing mushroom. But then she heard the door open. She quickly hid herself before anyone could see her.
She watched as Mr. Smee came into the room. He had bread and water with him. But he was shocked to see that Alice was gone. He almost dropped the tray and he began to think a little.
“Oh dear,” he said. “If the Cap’n finds out about this he’ll make me walk the plank for sure.”
He then quickly left the room and Alice was able to come out of hiding. Her problem now was that they knew she had to get out before anyone else could catch her. She wanted to make some decent progress so she took a bite out of the growing mushroom and she grew back up to her normal size (By Wonderland standards). She went to the door but she could hear Captain Hook shouting.
“What do you mean she’s escaped?” asked Hook.
“She’s gone sir,” replied Smee. “The ropes were still there and the door was locked. She had just gone.”
“What do you think she did? Shrink out of the ropes and then walk through the bars. Don’t be stupid.”
“But Cap’n.”
“Find her now or else I’ll be having one less crew member and the sharks get one extra meal.”
“Yes Cap’n.”
Alice looked through the keyhole to see if she could see what was happening. But when she did look she couldn’t see anyone. She then slowly opened the door and she took a better look. But she still couldn’t see anything around her. She gave out a small sigh of relief as she walked through the door.
But Alice had one last problem. She would have to swim back to Wonderland since there were no life boats left. She just hoped that there weren’t any sharks in the water. She just dived into the water.
But unfortunately for her the splash had alerted Hook. He went to the starboard side of the ship and saw her swimming away. He got very angry as he watched her get further and further away.
“Smee!” shouted Hook.
In a matter of seconds Mr. Smee came running towards him. He stopped dead in front of Captain Hook.
“Yes Cap’n, said Mr. Smee.
“The prisoner is swimming away,” replied Hook in a very calm and mellow voice. “I think you better get her.”
“But Cap’n.”
“THAT WASN’T A REQUEST!”
“But Cap’n I can’t swim.”
“Then learn.”
He then grabbed Mr. Smee and he quickly threw him overboard. Smee hit the water hard and he began to splash around. He truly couldn’t swim and he would surely drown if nothing was done.
Alice looked back and saw what was happening. She thought about just swimming off and leaving him. But a small part of her was telling her to go and save him. He might have locked her up but she didn’t want him to die.
In a split second Alice turned around and went back towards the ship. She grabbed Mr. Smee when she reached him. But he was still kicking around frantically trying to stay afloat.
“Keep still,” said Alice.
“Help me,” replied Smee.
“I am helping.”
She quickly swam back to land and she put Mr. Smee on the beach and he just lay there. He was exhausted and he couldn’t catch Alice. Alice herself was very tired but she just walked away as fast as she could.
Hook had seen what had happened and he was angrier then ever. He had run away from one youngster causing him problems. But now he seemed to have another one here in Wonderland. Hook would not tolerate this and he had to do something immediately. Defeat was not an option.
“I’ll get that girl if it’s the last thing I do,” said Hook. He then threw down his hooked arm and it went into wall. It made a big hole and he just took it out and looked back to the ocean.
Alice on the other hand seemed to be happy with herself. She had escaped the pirates and now was more or less on the run. She hoped that she wouldn’t run into anymore pirates along the way.
Meanwhile at the royal palace the Blackbird had just arrived. He was very tired as he reached the royal courtroom. There was another trial going on at that moment. IT was the Knave of Hearts who was on trial.
“The Queen of Hearts she made those tarts all on a summers day,” read the White Rabbit from a scroll. “The Knave of Hearts he stole those tarts and took them all away.” He then cleared his throat.
“Objection!” demanded the Knave of Hearts.
“Objection overruled,” replied the Queen of Hearts.
Just then the Blackbird came in and landed right in front of the Queen. At first she was a little scared of him.
“Your majesty,” said the Blackbird. “We have trouble.”
“What is it?” replied the Queen of Hearts.
“The pirates are here and they’ll steal whatever they can get their hands on. They’re heading this way.”
“ASSEMBLE THE GUARD!”
The sheer volume of the Queen’s voice blew the poor Blackbird away. It went flying into a wall and then landed on the ground. The Queen’s cards then began to run around frantically a little.
“LINE UP!” shouted the Queen.
The cards then quickly lined themselves up in a neat and tidy fashion. But no one noticed the Knave of Hearts slowly sneak out of the courtroom. He was going to get out while he had a chance.
“”NOW STOP THOSE PIRATES!” shouted the Queen.
“But your majesty,” replied the Ace of Hearts.
“WHAT!?”
“Where are the pirates?”
“Well?” She then looked back towards the Blackbird who was nearly knocked out. “Where are the pirates?”
“I last saw them at the Caucus-Race your Highness.”
“To the Caucus-Race!”
The cards then charged out of the courtroom. They had been given their orders and they dared not disobey the Queen. If she did she’d raise a fuss and each of them would quickly lose their head.
Meanwhile back with Alice she was making some good progress. But she had already lost enough time with being captured. The March Hare was probably wondering where she was.
Eventually she reached a cliff. The compass pointed directly across it and Alice gave out a sigh.
“Guess this is something that normal size Alice can’t overcome,” said Alice. She then took the growing mushroom from her pocket. “But its an easy challenge for giant size Alice.”
She then took a bite out of the growing mushroom and she quickly grew to a suitable height. She then carefully climbed down the cliff to the bottom. She easily did this and she didn’t cause herself any injuries.
But she had been watched by Captain Hook from the Jolly Roger. He had seen her head pop up higher then the trees. At first he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. He rubbed his eyes.
But while he rubbed his eyes Alice ate a part of the shrinking mushroom and she shrank down out of Hook’s sight. When he looked through the telescope again she had seemingly gone.
“We really need to steal some decent whisky,” said Hook. “The cheap stuff gets to you after a while.”
Back with Alice she decided to stay twice her normal size so that she could make some progress. Also if she ran into anymore pirate she would have some defense against them. She was powerless against them at normal size. She looked at the compass and she could still see it pointing north. But she still didn’t have any idea just how far the insurance company was.
“I could walk for days and not get there,” said Alice. She then sighed. “At least at this size I’ll get there in half the time.”
She continued to walk and she hoped that it wouldn’t take her long. She was getting hungry and there didn’t seem to be much food around her. But after several more miles she ran into the playing cards. They all got their spears and lances out and they pointed them at her. She quickly put up her hands and she didn’t try and do anything to aggravate them.
“Put your hands where can see them Pirate scum,” said one of the Cards. “Don’t try anything stupid.”
“I’m not a pirate,” replied Alice.
“Prove it.”
“I’m just a little girl from the real world. I’m taking something to an insurance company for the March Hare.”
“What’s your name so-called Little Girl?”
“Alice.”
“Wait that sounds familiar.” The cards them began to talk amongst themselves. “You’re the girl who comes from the real world right?”
“Yes.”
“Oh sorry about that.”
“Wait I know where the pirates’ ship is.”
“Tell us.”
“It’s on the beach.”
“To the beach!”
The cards then ran straight past her before she could even say which beach they were at. She just gave out a sigh and just kept walking. If the pirates were as incompetent as Mr. Smee they wouldn’t really have a problem.
But on his ship Captain Hook was getting angry. Not only hadn’t he heard anything from his crew but he had also lost a prisoner. For now this day just wasn’t going his way at all.
“This place isn’t as bad as Neverland,” said hook. “Only something worse then Neverland can make me go back there. At least I don’t have to worry about that boy or that crocodile.”
He then saw the lifeboat slowly coming back towards the ship. He used his telescope to see who it was. To his disappointment it was only Mr. Smee and he gave out a small grunt of annoyance.
When Smee reached the ship he climbed back on and he went to the Captain Hook. He put his hand on his head as a sign of respect. But Hook just smiled as he walked over to him.
“So I take it that you didn’t catch the prisoner?” asked Hook.
“Sorry Cap’n but she got away,” replied Smee.
“Do you know what happens to people who fail me time and time again Mr. Smee?” His gentle smile had turned into an evil smile.
“N-no Captain.”
“THEY WALK THE PLANK!”
“But Cap’n. I’m the only that can give you a close shave. And I’m practically the only person on this ship who can cook.”
“You do have a point there. For that I’m giving you one more chance Mr. Smee. Take me to the mainland and I can catch the prisoner myself.”
“Yes Cap’n.”
The pair of them then quickly got back into the lifeboat and Mr. Smee began to row it back to the mainland. Hook just stood there with his telescope and he looked at the mainland itself. He wanted to see if he could see anything that was worth noticing. He also hoped that he’d see Alice. As of yet no one had ever escaped the Jolly Roger. Well besides Peter Pan.
When he reached the mainland he noticed Alice’s footprints on the ground. He gave out a grin as he began to follow them into the mainland. He wouldn’t let anyone get in his way. Not even his own mother.
But eventually they reached the cliffs where Alice had walked down. But to them it was too high up for them to simple jump. They needed to climb down. But they didn’t know whether it was safe.
You climb down first Smee,” said Captain Hook.
“But Cap’n,” replied Smee.
“Are disobeying a direct order Mr. Smee?”
“No Cap’n.”
“Then do it.”
“Yes Cap’n.”
Mr. Smee then began to climb down the cliff. He wasn’t too particularly fond of heights. He tried not to look down. But once or twice he did and he gave out a cry of fear each time he did.
“Stop screaming Smee and keep going,” said Captain Hook.
“Yes Cap’n,” replied Smee.
Smee kept going and after several minutes he reached the bottom. He gave out a small sigh of relief. He then looked back up at the cliff and he could see Captain Hook looking back down at him.
“It’s safe Cap’n,” said Smee.
“Good I’m coming,” replied Captain Hook.
He then began to climb down. But when he put his hand on one of the rocks it gave way and he began to fall. Captain Hook began to scream in terror as he fell and Mr. Smee tried to catch him.
Thankfully for Captain Hook Mr. Smee was just able to break his fall. But the collision caused Mr. Smee quite a lot of pain. But Captain Hook just got back up to his feet and brushed the dust off. He looked at Mr. Smee who was still lying on the ground. He was groaning a little.
“Get up Smee.,” said Captain Hook.
“I’ll try Cap’n,” replied Mr. Smee. He then tried to get up. But he couldn’t quite get himself up. “Little help please.”
Captain Hook then helped Mr. Smee back onto his feet. Although he didn’t like doing this he still did it since he needed Smee. But no sooner had he done this he noticed another one of Alice’s footprints.
“There they are,” said Captain Hook. “We’re still on the right trail.”
“But Cap’n,” replied Mr. Smee. “Don’t those prints look bigger then the other ones?” He looked at them closer.
“Don’t be stupid Smee. That impact has done something to your head.”
“But Cap’n.”
“No buts Smee.”
Meanwhile Alice had just reached the insurance Company. She expected it to a large building. But instead all it was, was a small hut in the middle of nowhere and there seemed to be only one person inside.
Alice decided to shrink herself down to normal since she didn’t have to walk so far anymore. She just walked up to the hut and a man was there wearing a flat cap and a waistcoat.
“Can I help you,” said the Man.
“Yes the March Hare sent me here to give you this,” replied Alice. She then took the piece of paper out of her pocket and she gave it to him. He began to look at the paper and he seemed to be impressed.
“Yep everything seems to be in order.”
“So now what?”
“Now everything goes back to the way it was. Goodbye.”
He then lowered a blind so Alice couldn’t see him anymore. She didn’t expect things to have been this easy. But now all she had to worry about was Captain Hook and his crew. But she thought that the Queen’s guard would be able to deal with them. But she did wonder a little.
“Guess I should go back to the March Hare and tell him the good news,” said Alice to herself.
She then took another nibble on the growing mushroom and she doubled in size. She quickly began to walk back to the March Hare’s house. She was feeling a little tired after all that walking. But if she needed to get there faster she could always just make herself bigger.
But she wasn’t aware that Captain Hook and Mr. Smee were hot on her heels and right now she was actually walking towards them. It would only be a matter of time before they would run into each other. But Captain Hook wasn’t aware of Alice’s change in size. He was in for a big surprise.
Alice kept on walking in hopes that she would reach the March Hare once again. She was feeling a little tired after walking so much so she sat down on a large rock to catch her breath.
But then she could hear someone coming towards her. She wasn’t sure who it was and she began to feel a little agitated. She hoped that it wasn’t the pirates again. But now there was no chance that they could take her down.
But instead of seeing any kind of pirate Alice saw the White Rabbit. He still held his pocket watch and he looked up at Alice. At first he was afraid until he realised who it was.
“Alice,” he said.
“Hello Mr. Rabbit,” replied the White Rabbit. “I’m terrible late again.”
“Another trial for the Queen?”
“No it’s an invitation for the Duchess from the Queen to play croquet. But really the Queen wants to behead the Duchess.”
“Oh how terrible?”
“I need to get there quickly.”
“But how can you do that? Knowing that you’re going to get someone killed? I know the Duchess isn’t the most sensible person alive but that doesn’t mean she has to be killed.”
“No one dies in Wonderland remember.”
“Oh yeah.” She then began to think a little. “But still she shouldn’t have to lose her head. You’ve seen what it’s done to the Mad Hatter.”
“Well if I don’t tell the Duchess about the croquet game I’ll lose my head. If you don’t mind I’d prefer to keep my head.”
But then Captain Hook and Smee came out of the bushes. They were tired after their walk and they were panting a little. They hadn’t properly seen Alice yet and they had caught a glimpse of her.
“After all this time I found you,” said Captain Hook. He then panted a little. “No one escapes Captain Hook.” He then looked over to Alice and saw that she was giant. She stood up to her full height and he began to become a little frightened. “My how you’ve grown.”
“What do you want Hook?” replied Alice. “If you want to take me back to the ship I’d like to see you try.”
“Smee take her back to the ship.”
“But Cap’n,” replied Smee.
“No buts Smee. Just do it.”
“Yes Cap’n.”
Smee then walked towards Alice. She stood up to her full height and she looked down at him. She crossed her arms and she glared at him. She hoped that this would make the pirate think twice before trying anything. He was beginning to shake a little. But as he got closer he slowed down.
“I wouldn’t get any closer if I was you,” said Alice.
“Don’t listen to her,” replied Captain Hook. “If you don’t do this you’ll be walking the plank.”
“Get any closer and I’ll do much worse.”
“Plank Smee.”
Mr. Smee was very confused. He dared not disobey Captain Hook. But he knew that he would be in serious trouble if he go near Alice. Right now he was stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Alice began to think a little. This pirate didn’t seem to be all that bright so she began to think of a way of outsmarting him ad using her charm. She gave him a pleasant smile in hopes that this would calm his nerves.
“You don’t want to hurt me do you?” asked Alice.
“Err no ma’am,” replied Mr. Smee.
“Then just stay there and don’t move. That’ll make me very happy. Besides there might be a pie in it for you.”
“What flavour?”
“Blueberry.”
“I love blueberry pie.”
“Snap out of it Smee!” demanded Hook.
“But Cap’n she’ll give me blueberry pie,” replied Mr. Smee. “And that’s my all time favourite.”
“If you don’t stop her then you’ll have a leg named Woody. Now get going or else I’ll take it off now.”
“Yes Cap’n.”
Alice could see one way out of this. She had to scare Mr. Smee out of doing it. She took the growing mushroom from her pocket and she took a bite out of it. This caused her body to shoot up into the air. Her height increased ten fold and she glared down at Mr. Smee.
“I really think you should back away Mr. Smee,” said Alice.
“I think you’re right,” replied Mr. Smee.
He then turned around and began to run away. Hook wasn’t too impressed with what he was seeing and he became quite angry. He got out his sword and he ran towards Alice. She just squatted down.
“No one escapes Captain Hook,” he cried.
But when he reached Alice she just flicked him away. She giggled a little to herself and looked at Hook again.
“I think you better leave,” said Alice.
“Never!” replied Captain Hook. “As long as there’s valuables here I will be here to steal them. You’ll see that no one makes a mockery of Captain James Hook. No one I tell you. And even if it means…”
Just then Captain Hook began to hear the ticking of a clock. Fear took over his body and he began to look around the bushes. Alice was a little confused with what was happening and she just watched him.
“He’s here,” said Hook. He then began to run in the same direction as Mr. Smee. “Smee help me.”
When he was gone Alice just stood up to her full height and she was a little confused with what had just happened. She knew that her size hadn’t scared him away. It was something else.
“How very odd,” said Alice. She then looked down at the White Rabbit. “What was all that about.”
“I don’t know,” replied the White Rabbit.
“He either had a delayed reaction or something else scared him.”
“Well I best be going. I want to keep my head.”
The White Rabbit then quickly ran away and Alice just continued to walk towards the March Hare’s house. She was constantly on the look out for anymore pirates. But thankfully she didn’t see any.
At her size the walk back to the March Hare’s house didn’t take too long. Unfortunately it was still in ruins. She felt guilty over what had happened. But she could see that the March Hare was still having his tea party.
It took them both a moment or two to notice Alice. But when they did they raised their cups to her.
“Hey you’re back,” said the March Hare.
“Yes I did exactly what you told me,” replied Alice. She then held the piece of paper that seemed tiny compared to her.
“Oh great just put it on the house.”
“What?” she was a little confused with this statement. “You want me to just put it on the house.”
“That’s what I’ve said. Are you sure you’re not some kind of echo? And if not why not?”
“I’m not an echo.” She then placed the paper on the house. “See I’ve done what you’ve asked.”
Alice was then amazed to see the house begin to repair itself. It was like a demolition in reverse. It took a minute but eventually the entire house was repaired and the March Hare was happy.
“There all done,” said the March Hare.
“That was amazing,” replied Alice.
“Never underestimate the power of an insurance policy. Now shrink down and have some tea with us.”
“Well I am thirsty.”
Alice then took the shrinking mushroom from her pocket and took a bite out of it. This caused her to shrink down to a more manageable size. Although she was a few inches taller then she should be she didn’t mind. She then sat down and some tea was poured for her. She took a sip of it and she smiled.
“Simply marvellous,” said Alice.
“It’s the best tea in Wonderland,” replied the Mad Hatter. “I should know because I’m the judge.”
“Well that’s reassuring.”
“Yep my tea’s won the annual tea fest fifteen years running.”
“What about that one year you lost?” interrupted the March Hare.
“That didn’t count. He used coffee.”
“But it still won.”
“And it was very bitter.”
“That’s because you ate cake before you drank it.”
“What does that have anything to do with it?”
“If you have something sweet before drinking coffee it tastes bitter. Everyone knows that.”
“Well I didn’t.”
Just then Captain Hook staggered into view. He was out of breath again but he was glad to see that Alice was small again. He sniggered a little and he drew out a very long sword.
“You thought you saw the last of me?” asked Hook.
“Well I thought I did,” replied Alice.
“Well think again.”
“Just please leave. I really don’t want to hurt you.”
“Don’t worry it’s not my health you should be concerned about. It should be your own my dear.”
But then Hook began to hear the ticking sound again. His body began to shiver with freight as he looked around everywhere. Alice wasn’t sure what was happening and she just stood up.
She took a bite out of the growing mushroom again and she grew to giant size. But he still didn’t notice this. He was too busy turning his head in every direction.
“He won’t take the other hand!” shouted Hook.
But before he could do anything Alice picked him up and threw him as far as she could. She watched him fly over the horizon.
“And I don’t want to wonderland again,” said Alice.
She then looked down at the Mad Hatter and March Hare. The Mad Hatter was looking at his watch that was making a ticking sound. She then shook her head and she took a bite of the shrinking mushroom. This caused her to shrink back down to size.
But while Hook was fling in the air. He came to realise something. A giant girl was a lot more dangerous then a flying boy. He would prefer to fight Peter Pan on a day to day basis instead Alice. He also knew that he was never going to come to Wonderland ever again.
