The Pipe
A short poem reflecting how a piece of sturdy wood offers relief, and calm to a Captain.

The pipe has joined the journey

With Captain and his men

Reflecting the path on which he goes

As its lit again and again...

Escaping auras of scented smoke

Cast colors to the wind

Reveling the moods, not of the man

But the thinker deep within.

A sturdy piece of wood

With gallant dignity

Serves its Captain well

From sea to shining sea.
