Featured in the Scary/Horror Newslettle July It had only been a month after the murders at Kenya railroad station and still no leads as to who brutally stabbed old man Johnson and his wife. Now rumors were surfacing about a ghostly apparition walking along the train-loading platform and blood-curdling-screams of a woman. It was like clockwork, every night at 9:45 old man Johnson's ghost was seen walking along the platform, as if he was about to board a train. Then you would hear his wife scream bloody murder, and that's when Johnson's ghost would disappear. The rumors going around said that was when the horrible murders occurred. Sheriff Nicholson was called out to the station to investigate. At first, he showed up at the train station thinking not another case. However, he never found anything. After a week of this, he showed up to make an appearance for the people of the town. Soon he started to send other officers out, each time nothing was found. There was only one officer who has seen anything at the train station. Young Zack Taylor, he had only work at the Sheriff's Department for six months. One night Sheriff Nicholson sent Taylor out to investigate the station. Taylor didn't believed in ghosts, but he had heard the rumors. At the station, he slowly walked around to the loading platform and up the stairs. About middle ways, he stopped, turned around, and scratched his head. When he turned back to walk the remaining platform he got the scare of his live. Old man Johnson and his wife's ghosts were standing in front of him. Then they both just disappeared. Taylor's skin began to crawl and he turned pale white. He turned around and fell tripping over his own feet as he tried to run to his patrol car. Scrambling to his feet he jumped off the platform knocking over a stack of boxes. Back in his car, he slammed it in reverse and peeled out of the parking lot. The town's people who were frighten stopped using the train. It seemed the station might have to close down, and that wouldn't be good for the town. Although Kenya was a small town, the train offered a lot. The stop at Kenya was the halfway point between two larger towns. The sightings of the ghost and screams became more frequent. Sheriff Nicholson had to do something soon or Kenya would turn into a ghost town. Families were already moving away. He decided to contact a paranormal investigation team. The paranormal team G.H.O.S.T. agreed to meet with Sheriff Nicholson. On their first meeting, Sheriff Nicholson meet with the team leader. She introduced herself as Rayne. Sheriff Nicholson couldn't help but notice how her long light brown hair followed the curves of her body as it fell down her back and shoulders. He told her the story about old man Johnson and his wife. Rayne was very intrigued by the story, and recorded it on her hand held audio recorder. They meet up with her team at the train station. Sheriff Nicholson gave them a tour of the place and answered questions. After the tour, the team when to work. Rayne assigned different duties, some were taking pictures and walking around with small audio recorders talking out loud to no one, still others started on research at the library and the courthouse. Rayne told sheriff Nicholson that she wanted to interview Zack Taylor. So he drove her to the sheriff's office. That night Sheriff Nicholson met up with Rayne and her team at the train station. He wanted to be there at 9:45 just in case there might be some trouble. After the town heard about the paranormal team coming everyone in town-started going down to the station at night trying to photograph the ghost. By 9:00, the paranormal team had gathered back at the train station and was setting up their equipment. Infrared motion detectors were set up at both ends of the loading-platform as well as night vision cameras. Some of the team members walked around with cameras, while others had small audio recorders. An EMF was set on the platform close to where the ghost had been seen. Sheriff Nicholson called his men out to the station, a crowd was gathering making noise. The area needed to be as quiet as possible and no one walking around. Barricades were placed around the parking lot to help keep the townspeople out of the way. The EMF lights started flickering from green to red. Rayne looked down at her watch it was 9:43. She turned on the audio recorder and started asking questions. She looked funny asking questions and talking to no one. Cameras flashes could be seen going off. Then he appeared old man Johnson. He walked down the platform, just as Taylor had said. He stopped in front of Rayne and stared in her direction. Then his arms came up like he shielding himself from an attack. Everyone jumped when a high-pitched scream filled the air. When the sound of the scream died away so did old man Johnson's ghost. Rayne motioned for one of her guys to hurry over to her. She was pointing at the platform where the ghost had been standing. The young photographer knelt down taking several pictures and in many different angels. The crowd of people began whispering loudly amongst themselves. Some were walking around in the parking lot looking for a way to get into the station. Still others backed up from the station out into the road. Sheriff Nicholson decided it would be best if the towns poeple went home. He was afaid that they would interfear with the investigation. The crowd broke up slowly, but finnaly everyone left the parking lot. It was getting late and he would need to be up early tomorrow. He let Taylor know that he was going home. The next day sheriff Nicholson was at the sheriffs' office early. He was eager to see what the ghost investigation turned up. He looked forward to talking with Rayne. It was late afternoon when he heard from her. They were going back home and would review all the evidents and contact him later in the week. It was a rainy day when Rayne e-mailed the sheriff. She had some disturbing news that he needed to view, and would be driving down after work. Sheriff Nicholson was on edge the rest of the day. The day dragged by, the rain never let up. That evening Rayne met with sheriff Nicholson at his office. Inside with the door shut, his officers standing around the closed door straining to hear what was said. Rayne played an audio tape. They had recorded an EVP. It was a man's voice saying, "Chris Johnson did this to us." Sheriff Nicholson turned ghostly white. He looked up from the recording and peered off into space. It turned out the Chris Johnson was old man Johnsons' nephew and he stood to gain everything including the Johnson ranch. Chris was picked up and brought in for questioning. When he heard the recording, he broke down crying and admitted to stabbing his aunt and uncle at the train station before they left town. Old man Johnson was going to his lawyers and have his will changed, he was going to leave everything to sheriff Nicholson. Chris was in raged when he found this out and killed them both. That night Rayne went to the train station hoping to see old man Johnsons' ghost. She was going to tell him that his nephew had confessed to the crime that his wife and he were now free to cross over to the other side.
