                                                      HAPPY

i know my life is in chaos
when I have to separate
my old newspapers from
the dirty clothes I've carried
(really, have THROWN)
down the stairs in the
hot pink bag which usually
contains dry cleaning ready
to go to the cleaners. I
know my world is veering off course
when my extra-long telephone cord
suddenly becomes imbeded
in the wheels of my desk chair
without warning.  And I know
it's out of control when I  open
the washer to remove a wet load,
only to find a (now clean}
red plastic drinking cup on top
of the wet cothes!
But I know emphatically that
it's MY LIFE,
warts, cups, and all,
and I am happy!
