Calling For Brevity
Truth is lost in volumes Held with power and purpose; Ephemeral dissipates to ether Along wide whirling winds, Mishandling importance. Appreciate length but remember: Zen is brevities visual zenith In deep haiku syllables Neatly compact and complex Ground in awing nature. Fifty-five words is not much; Impeccable use not elongated Fortifies meaning beyond The limits that constrict Your minds impossibility. Fifty-five words don't waste In haste, brevity is gone. Viscosities tawny maple syrup Eulogy morbidly sluggish, With concise context musing. Orthodox along paradox Reposition all the mass. Demand conscious reading, Slash each connection, Trust with open translation. Omnipotent writers halt; Release the power to another, Yearn for imperfect completion. Consider everything unimportant, Otherwise the story won't end. Nerves strum many paths Towards ways of feeling, Eliminate long loping strides Simplify each path of meaning. Times up for over spewed length. "ON WINTER BREAK" for the acrostic I used: "The Amazing 55 Word Story Contest"
