The Spring Discovers Summer

Cold, wet showers falling in March, April, and May
Lead to less fun outdoors from seasonal frolic and play.
Car engines revving, people zooming past stoplights,
As folks slowing down sneer at traffic in their sights!

Work’s the usual hassle, as we’re committed to the duty
Of meeting stringent deadlines, a job that kicks us in the booty…
Having loved ones, such a joy – some do, and some do not;
A springtime newborn needing care, Mommy or Daddy in a spot.

Unreliable, beat up cars in need of repairs to run,
But Spring will heat up very soon, discover the warming sun!
Summer’s just around the corner, picnic grills a-sizzling,
Crowded beaches, busy pools, the wedding champagne fizzing!

Soon we’ll leave the Spring behind, welcoming in the Summer –
Sunny skies, warmer temps, and traffic, less of a bummer…
Planning a joyous vacation, or enjoying the sun with friends,
Seeking the outdoors with family, hoping the Summer never ends!
