In Faërie, far above the clouds In Faërie, far beyond the sea Through sandy deserts, ancient forests Through ruined cities, icy wastes Over mountains high and steep There slumbers, in a lonely castle Somewhere in a realm of stone A queen of queens A luminous lady Mistress of magics And princess of stars She sleeps until the sun goes out Until the earth and moon a memory On stardust bed she dreams of life A creature divine The Empress Alone
