INVENTION OF MAN

By Richard Bennett

Am I to understand,

This invention of man

Is to rule all our lives;

Preventing all our strives

To save our own lives,

While causing divides:

This invention of man

Is an invention of course.

All actions of force,

Of war and all hate,

Is for it, we state.

But to know it you wait

Until in the black crate:

This invention of man.

The desirous fools,

Who made up some rules,

Mothered this invention

With no good intention,

But with hopeful abstention,

Get undue attention.

This invention of man.

It tells right from wrong;

Says who may belong.

To others be it taught,

Their own are for naught.

Many for it have sought...

Seen it? of course not:

This invention of man.

I wish it weren't true,

But in final adieu

That's it and so long.

Even those who did wrong,

Those vicious all lifelong,

Receive no justice, they're gone.

This invention of man.

How much can we take

Before willing to break

The chains and the cuffs?

There's no soon enough

To save lives that were snuffed

In the name of a bluff.

This invention of man.

Ingrained in the youth,

Forced upon them as truth

Amongst fables and lies.

If bought one never dies,

If not then one fries.

This may be our demise.

This invention of man.

More than warping young minds,

The sheep all go blind.

Childhood has been stripped.

Should be sent to their crypt,

But to a new flock they are shipped;

Blessed are the tightlipped.

This invention of man.

Why can't we all understand,

This invention of man

Is soon to ruin our lives.

We need to make strives

To save our own lives;

Goodness and peace will survive

Destroy this invention of man.
