The silence in the room was vicious.
Unwrapping the bandage from around her face, a frightening anticipation after months of lying in a hospital bed, her mind raced anxiously. opening her eyes, staring at the mirror, she knew her life would be changed forever. A promise to herself not to shed a tear, humbly broken.
