Whether in papers, or a book,
A note on the refrigerator
Or office memo work.

Correct comma usage has nuts and bolts
In making communications relate.
Written without much thought,          
Takes clever mind’s to translate.

A lot of rules make comma sense,
Where bad usage trips up and fools;
Because they’re being poorly placed,
Writers and readers get slapped in the face.

The flows interrupted, the meanings changed;
Messages give insight that’s not sane.
When commas are given no right say,
Information gathered reads apparent bane.

So, take your time; give much thought,
When commas cause you concern.
Without altercation your choice can count
Obey certain rules that discern.

Know each rule, they have definite sway,
Use them; don’t suffer much blame,
Put them in their rightful places
And win at commas, when playing their game.
