Someday
A song I wrote for my Drug-Prevention team. It's about child and domestic abuse.

I've never set the song to music, so I am not sure how it really would sound. I'm in a group called America's Pride (prideyouthprograms.org) and through Toledo Pride (my local pride team of the hundreds in the nation) we have another group called the PEACE Project (Protecting Every Abused Child Everywhere) and I wrote this song for the PEACE Project.

Someday

Verse One:
Is anything worth this pain?
I keep it locked up, I’m going insane.
You tell me you love me.
Mommy, what is happening?
I want someone to help us
But someone will make a fuss.

Chorus:
Daddys beating and yelling
Till I’m all alone
Until Daddy comes in
and throws at me the phone
Oh mommy, why do we go on this way?
And all you say is
we’re gonna be outta here someday
Someday, someday.

Verse Two:
Mommy, what’s wrong?
Daddy’s been gone so long
And you’re sitting here crying
Please, no lying.
I want someone to help you, to help us.
But all someone will do is make a fuss.
And Finally;;

Chorus:
Daddys beating and yelling
Till I’m all alone
Until Daddy comes in
and throws at me the phone
Oh mommy, why do we go on this way?
And all you say is
we’re gonna be outta here someday
Someday, someday.

Closing;;
Daddy rolls in around one thirty
Hes all scraggly and dirty
He walks around and grabs a knife
And yells at mommy till he took her life.
And She’s finally outta here,
Do I get to leave too?
Daddy, am I leaving too?
