The travellers rest
a man tries to reach the safety of the small hut set aside for those in need.

Dark grey clouds filled the sky, threatening yet more snow. Shadowfox shuddered despite a thick fur lined cloak he wore wrapped tightly around thin shoulders. Pain had long ago set its mark on features which, while not handsome, tended to hold peoples attention.

Strong, muscular arms lent their support. “Nearly there.” Elora said, concerned about her friend, seeing blood still flowing.

Shadow remained silent, forcing himself forward.

Travellers Rest loomed ahead. El sighed, relief flashing across deep green eyes. “We can stay here safely.”

“Thank you.” His words were barely audible.

Death hovered but for tonight, at least, just watched.
