LIFE SPINS A TANGLED WEB
From birth to death, we spin a web But where will it ever end? To catch a dream or capture prey Spinning endlessly to mend. Our childhood so fragile We cannot exist alone Someone else must care for us Provide for us a home. Though tangles may unravel as we continue along life's path Through darkest skies, we search for light Learning nothing is promised to last. Consequences of our choices Will determine how strong the thread Silky smooth and sailing free Above obstacles that now seem dead. If winds create a nusience All our work could be in vain Gathering venom with persistance Will overcome the rough terrain. Gazing through sunlit forests Clinging to blowing trees Is all the world on fire As we float with endless breeze? Spinning lifelines for another Wears one down as we grow old Give me just enough thread to finish When my own life story's told. Spinning, spinning spinning Will it end when I'm no longer here? Will it pass on to another younger soul There is never a reason to fear. So.... Let the sunlight glisten on the silver threads you weave Always spreading hope and joy, and reasons to believe.
