Ballad Of The Thieving Horseman

He's now on a flight to the moon,
upon a thieving horseman's back
youthful eyes closed tight.

Through the mist the horseman came,
his dark horse trampling the horizon
and into the night to snatch his soul.

I heard the banshee wail, crying
gathering birds of the mourning song,
The Barn Owl sat in a melancholy stare.

Your candle shall no longer flicker,
your hide and seek amongst the meadows
a memory whispered in the wind.

The morning sun shall gather rays,
drying the stains of the night's tears
and dream I'll drift to you my child.

Soon I'll come to you my love
upon the thieving horseman's back
amongst the stars our hearts will dwell.

Lament to the spirit of the moon,
he's now on a flight to the moon,
youthful eyes closed tight.
