DEW IN EVENTIDE

oh celestial Phobe in weeping joy
behold the ethereal ebony sky;
of sphery oes in circled light
like tapers which englids the night;
the liquid pearl from heaven falls
its chastity, it pures all;
chaplet of buds, the grass crowned
Philomel sings, its song abound;
musk roses and thymes wild
enamell'd petals in dew hide;
the tears of Phoebe on Eglantine
they glisten, the condensed moonshine;
angel's draught in eden abide
the dew in eventide.
