*Flower4* Facing the Day *Flower4*

Yanked suddenly from the cocoon of slumber...
My mind recoils from consciousness.

Desperate to return to the comfort of "nothing"...
Breathing deepens and muscles are commanded to relax.

But once again, the pain is driven into the base of my skull
And a whimper escapes my lips.

Sweet sleep, the mystery of black peace that I immerse myself in...
Quickly slips from my weakened grasp...
As light pours in and awareness stabs sharply.

Finally, I accept my fate...
Although there is bitterness that must be expelled.

My harsh wail of "QUIET!!!" echos through the wood.
And the birds abandon their perch...
As my window slams down.
