Dear Readers, Raters, & Reviewers,
Everytime I log into writing.com I am excited by a new email. It's either time for the weekly NEWSLETTER, or a new review for one of my stories, even a thank you message for reviewing someone elses work. I get excited because for each of these things I learn something new about writing, myself, and my peers.
For the readers:
You, like me, might get a little smile on your face when you notice the number of views on your work has gone up. It means someone has taken the time out of their day to read your imagination at play (or your shared experience, etc..). Whether they rate or review it, it still excites me to see my work was worth a look.
For the raters:
Nothing says incentive like a good or bad rating. Seriously. If I get a good rating, I feel proud of my work and want to do more. If I get a bad rating, it makes me want to improve my work, learn from my mistakes, and grow. Even if you don't accompany your rate with a review it is truly influential to me as a writer.
For the reviewers:
I feel like you are the most important people to my writing. Whether it's just a positive virtual slap on the shoulder, constructive criticism, or questions about the plot of the story, it's all immensely helpful. You are a second, third, and fourth (etc..) pair of eyes on a story that may be clear in my head, but might not come across clear to the reader. When you write to say you fully understood it, I know I did my job. If you write with questions about points in the story that i thought were clear, you give me a chance to try it again, and hopefully achieve my goal.
I have noticed in my almost six months here, that my skills and creativity have already grown. I'm not amazing, but I'm better and I hope to continue to grow here because of you.
Thank YOU!
